DMCA & Intellectual Property

Sonas Code respects the intellectual-property rights of others and expects users to do the same. We respond to notices of alleged copyright infringement that comply with the Digital Millennium Copyright Act (DMCA) and similar laws.

Filing a notice of infringement

If you believe content on Sonas Code infringes your copyright, send a written notice to our Designated Agent that includes:

  1. A physical or electronic signature of a person authorized to act for the rights-holder.
  2. Identification of the copyrighted work claimed to have been infringed.
  3. Identification of the material on Sonas that is allegedly infringing, with enough detail (including URLs or project IDs) to let us locate it.
  4. Your contact information: name, address, telephone, email.
  5. A statement that you have a good-faith belief that use of the material is not authorized by the rights-holder, its agent, or the law.
  6. A statement, under penalty of perjury, that the information in the notice is accurate and that you are the rights-holder or authorized to act on the rights-holder's behalf.

Counter-notice

If you believe your content was removed in error, you may submit a counter-notice. The counter-notice must include:

  1. Your physical or electronic signature.
  2. Identification of the material removed and its prior location.
  3. A statement under penalty of perjury that you have a good-faith belief the material was removed by mistake or misidentification.
  4. Your name, address, and telephone, plus consent to the jurisdiction of the federal court for the judicial district where you live (or for any judicial district where Sonas may be found if you are outside the United States), and that you will accept service of process from the original notifier.

Repeat infringers

We terminate accounts of users who are repeat infringers in appropriate circumstances.

For non-copyright IP concerns (trademarks, trade dress, right of publicity), email legal@sonas.dev with the same level of detail described above.
