Billing & Refunds

How starlight works

Sonas Code uses a credit currency called starlight. 1 starlight = $0.10 USD equivalent. AI calls consume starlight based on the model selected, the size of your prompt, and any reasoning or tool turns the model performs. Your available balance is shown in Settings.

Every account receives a weekly grant: 5 starlight/week on the Free plan, 15 starlight/week on Ultimate. Weekly grants do not roll over. Purchased starlight top-ups never expire.

Plans

  • Free — 5 starlight/week, access to DeepSeek V3 and Minimax M2.7.
  • Ultimate (£6/month) — 15 starlight/week, plus access to GPT-5.4, GPT-5.4 Mini, GPT-5.4 Nano, and Kimi K2.5.

Ultimate billing

Ultimate is sold as a 30-day pass, not an auto-renewing subscription. Pay £6 via PayPal and your Ultimate status remains active for 30 days from the date of payment (extending the existing expiry if you renew before it lapses). When the 30-day period ends, your account automatically reverts to Free with no further charges.

Top-up packs

You can buy additional starlight any time from the Settings page. Purchased starlight is non-refundable once spent, but unused starlight from a top-up may be refunded within 14 days of purchase.

Reserved credits and refunds

When you start an AI call, Sonas reserves an estimate of the starlight cost up-front. If the call fails (provider error, network failure, mid-stream disconnect), the reserved starlight is automatically refunded to your balance. If a call partially succeeds, you are charged only for what was actually delivered.

Refund policy

  • You may request a refund of unused starlight or an Ultimate pass within 14 days of purchase by emailing billing@sonas.dev.
  • Refunds are issued via PayPal back to the original payer.
  • Starlight that has already been spent on AI calls cannot be refunded except where required by law.
  • If we suspend your account for violation of the Acceptable Use Policy, unused starlight may be forfeited.

Payment processing

Payments are processed by PayPal. Sonas never sees or stores your payment card or bank details — PayPal handles all card data and notifies us only of the transaction outcome via Instant Payment Notification (IPN). See PayPal's privacy notice for how they handle payment information.

Taxes

Prices are stated in GBP and are inclusive of UK VAT where applicable. For purchases outside the UK, you are responsible for any taxes (sales, VAT, GST) levied by your jurisdiction, except for taxes based on our income.

Disputes & chargebacks

Please contact billing@sonas.dev before opening a PayPal dispute or chargeback so we can resolve the issue directly. Filing a dispute without contacting us first may result in account suspension while the matter is reviewed.
